The National Junior Classical League is the largest classics-related organization in the world, with over 50,000 members. Its national Convention attracts nearly 1500 high school Latin students, teachers, chaperones, and Senior Classical League members for a week of competitions and fellowship.
I'll be attending my twelfth NJCL Convention, and my first as a tertiary member of the National Senior Classical League. I plan to work in the academic contest office, and have volunteered for the NJCL Scholarship Committee.
And of course I'll participate in some more lighthearted SCL duties, including the publication of the Convention Ear, the daily satirical newslette of the Convention. The Ear is produced entirely on a volunteer basis. Work on a typical issue begins at 12:30 AM, and goes to proof around 5:30 AM.
